Harry Glotz, 95, of Warren, PA. died peacefully in his sleep Monday morning, January 27, 2025, at Kinzua Valley Healthcare, after an extended illness. He was born October 30, 1929, in Tidioute, PA. to the late Carl and Rozella Yazinski Glotz, Sr.
Harry was a 1948 graduate of Warren High School. He had served with the U.S. Army as a sergeant during the Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1953 with the 101st Signal Battalion Corp. where he earned the Korean Service Medal with 4 stars, United Nation Medal, National Defense Medal and Unit Merit Commendation. He was employed with the former Bell Telephone Company for 35 years as a PBX Installer, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church.
He enjoyed crossword puzzles, woodworking and any handyman projects. Harry had a love of music and in his younger years, had his own band. Harry also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by 5 Children – Daniel Glotz and wife, Sandy, Donald Glotz (Lenore), Dee Briggs and husband, Floyd all of Warren, PA., Dennis Glotz and wife, Mary Ann of Manheim, PA., Debra Glotz of Warren, PA., 9 Grandchildren – Jeremy, Matthew, Beth, Vanessa, Christina, Adriana, Erica, Bryce and Brittany, 9 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Howaniec, whom he married September 18, 1954, in Sheffield, PA., 6 brothers, Fred, Mike, Peter, Paul, Andrew, and Carl Glotz, Jr., 4 Sisters – Mary Mihalik, Anna Valko, Sophie Kobojek, Josephine Newton.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 6 to 8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA. on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Richard C. Tomasone, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
