Gordon L. Mathis, 71, of Warren, PA., died Friday morning, August 22, 2025, at Warren General Hospital, after an extended illness. Gordon was born April 20, 1954, in Warren, PA. He was the son of Louis F. and Dorris Gordon Mathis. He was a lifelong Warren area resident. He was a 1972 graduate of Warren Area High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. He was employed for 20 years with the Rouse Home and retired from Cummings Engine, after 10 years employment. He was an active member with the Chief Cornplanter Council of the Boy Scouts of America, where he was an Eagle Scout. Gordon was a member of the Stamp Club, the dirt digging club which uses metal detector to try and find old Warren History and was a member of the Ghost Detecting group.

He is survived by his daughter – Amy L. Chase, his grandchildren – Dakota Wagner, Cassaundra Chase all of Warren, PA., Tyrus Krisiak of Georgia, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha L. “Martie” Frederick who died October 23, 2014, his grandson, Orion Chase and longtime friend, Cordelia “Cookie” Skinner who died November 22, 2013.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. A funeral and committal service will be conducted at 5:00 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Dale Haight, officiating.
