Gloria York Salapek, 92, formerly of Yankee Bush Rd., Warren,

PA., died Wednesday morning, June 7, 2017 at the Rouse Warren

County Home, Youngsville, PA., after a brief illness. She was

born May 2, 1925 on Yankee Bush Road, where she lived her

whole life. She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Helen

Abbey York. She was a 1943 graduate of Warren High School.

Gloria was employed with the former Pennsylvania Gas

Company, now known as National Fuel Gas for over 10 years,

working as a secretary. Gloria was a member of St. Luke R.C.

Church, the church altar rosary society. She served as former

treasurer of Kitchen Cemetery, was an avid cook, gardener and

lover of her grandchildren. She prided herself on the knowledge

and history of Yankee Bush Hill.

She is survived by her children –Susan Keister and husband,

Michael, Thomas C. Salapek and wife Robin, James P. Salapek

and wife, Debra, Larry S. Salapek and wife, Deena, all of Warren,

PA., 7 Grandchildren, 5 Step Grandchildren, 9 Great

Grandchildren, 6 Step Great Grandchildren, several nieces,

nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her

husband, Thomas P. Salapek whom she married November 16,

1946 in Irvine, PA., 1 Brother – L. David York, 1 Sister – Lorraine

M. Whiteman

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304

East Street, Warren, PA., on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6 to 8 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Saturday, June 10,

2017 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Luke’s R.C. Church, 420 N. Main Street,

Youngsville, PA., with Rev. Richard Tomasone, Pastor,

officiating. Interment will be in Kitchen Cemetery. Those
