The world lost a good guy and a great storyteller with the passing of husband, father, and friend, Gerald (Jerry) William Ullrich. With his family by his side, Jerry passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, after a brief illness.

The youngest of four children, Jerry was born August 4, 1952, in Bradford, PA to the late Arthur L. and Dorothy Korb Ullrich, Sr. When Jerry was young the family moved to Warren where he proudly spent the rest of his life. Jerry graduated from Warren High School in 1970 and shortly after graduation began working at Warren General Hospital where he met his wife, Jane. After leaving Warren General Hospital, Jerry worked various jobs before retiring from the Pennsylvania State Police after 24 years of service.

Jerry and Jane were married for 51 years. They built a beautiful life with their two daughters, Courtney and Megan, and one very special bulldog, Mackenzie.

Jerry was an American history buff. He enjoyed visiting historical sites and had a particular love for Colonial Williamsburg. He cherished time at the beach, both summer trips with his extended family and in later years extended winter trips on Jekyll Island, GA with Jane. He closely watched the stock market and enjoyed giving his nephews trading tips. He cheered for the Pittsburgh Pirates despite years of disappointing seasons. Jerry especially enjoyed trivia and the friendships that he cultivated at the Warren Moose Lodge 109.

In addition to his wife and daughters, Jerry is survived by sons-in-law James and Jason and two special grand dogs. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Georgetta Moss, Jeannie Kohan, and Annette Dudukovich and husband Gary, and brothers-in-law Richard Kohan, and Michael Kohan and wife Marian. Jerry was blessed with many nieces and nephews who were very special to him.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arthur Ullrich, Jr., sisters Sarah (Sally) Ullrich and Mary Gray, sisters-in-law Juliann Chalmers and Sherry Kohan, and brothers-in-law Kevin Chalmers, James Moss, and Ronald Kohan.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Jerry’s life on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. with a visitation starting at 10:00 A.M. A reception luncheon will follow the Celebration of Life at the Warren Moose Lodge and is open to all.
