George “Red” M. Conquer, 89, of Warren, PA., died peacefully at his home, Tuesday afternoon, July 21, 2020. He was born January 29, 1931 in Sheffield, PA. He was the son of Charles E. and Belle Barnes Conquer. Red was a Warren area resident most of his life and a 1949 graduate of Sheffield High School. He had served with the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant. He was employed for 38 years with the former National Forge Company, retiring in 1983. Red was a member of the Warren American Legion Post 135, and a former Eagles Club member. He had been an operator with the Starbrick Television Association. He enjoyed woodworking and built numerous furniture pieces. He always wanted to walk the Appalachian Trail and enjoyed nature and the outdoors. The family has asked those to memorialize Red by walking the Appalachian Trail.

Red is survived by his wife of 66 years, F. Jane Salapek Conquer whom he married July 3, 1954 at St. Luke’s Church, Irvine, PA., 4 Children – Brent Conquer and wife, Cindy of Warren, PA., Kim Wilkins and husband, Steve of Scandia, PA., Lisa Papa and husband, Jim of Great Falls, Montana, Bradley Conquer and wife, Debra Ruby Stone of Warren, PA., his Sister, Carrie Belle Hoffman of Warren, PA., Daughter-in-law, Beth Conquer of Warren, PA., 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Paul Richard Conquer, 2 Brothers, Larry B. Conquer and Robert E. Conquer.

A private graveside service will be held with Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, Pastor of First Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Warren, Pa. Full military honors will be conducted by the Youngsville American Legion Post Funeral Honor Guard.
