Gary E. O’Hare, 83, of Sheffield, PA., died Monday evening, September 13, 2021, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA., after an illness of the past 2 months.
He was born March 8, 1938, in Titusville, PA. Gary was the son of George O’Hare and Anna O’Hare Hawbaker. He had resided most of his life in the Warren area. Gary graduated from Titusville High School Class of 1956. He was employed for 30+ years in the wire department as a machinist at G.T.E. Sylvania. Gary was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church and the Sheffield Knights of Columbus. He was a Weather Watcher for WJET TV-24.
Gary is survived by his wife of 34 years, Joan Pendleton O’Hare whom he married October 3, 1986, in Sheffield, PA., 3 Children – Sean O’Hare and wife, Rosalinda of Chandler, AZ., Kara O’Hare and husband, Bart Barnard, Colleen O’Hare all of Maricopa, AZ, 2 Stepchildren – JoAnn Brunswick of Sheffield, PA., Glenn Shaffer and his companion, Martha Blair of Union City, PA., 6 Grandchildren – Brandin Vasquez, Nicole Fretwell and husband, Matt, Erin, Maria, Joann and Kyle O’Hare, 2 Step Grandchildren – Jonathan Brunswick, Sara Alicea, 4 Great Grandchildren – Isabella, Madison, Ryleigh Fretwell, Olivia Ortega, 2 Step Great Grandchildren – Matthew And Emily Alicea.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Erin Elizabeth O’Hare, stepson – Jeff Brunswick, great great granddaughter, Natalie Alicea.
Friends may call at St. Anthony’s of Padua R.C. Church, 7222 Route 6, Sheffield, PA., on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Noon with Fr. Stephen Schreiber, Pastor, officiating. Masks and social distancing will be required. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Sheffield, PA. E-mail condolences may be sent by visiting www.lewisfuneralhomeinc.com.

While we were NOT fortunate enough to meet him, we are blessed to have been able to have met you all plus Sean & Rose’s Children & Grandchildren, and their respective Mothers. You all have truly enriched our lives and it is because of you we have our beloved Chihuahuas and that has helped us through the passing of my father in March 2015.
