Frank “Butch” Lucia, age 96, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022, after a brief illness. He was born August 5, 1925, in Warren, Pennsylvania. The son of Angelo and Clara “Carrie” Nicotera Lucia. He was a 1943 graduate of Warren High School. A decorated veteran who served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, receiving three Bronze Stars and a Distinguished Service Cross for displaying extraordinary heroism in combat with an enemy force. Butch was an avid gardener, long-time bowler, and enjoyed telling stories. He was a sheet metal worker, retiring from the Warren State Hospital. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus of which he was a Fourth Degree member, Warren American Legion Post 135, and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Wilson (nee Bauer) (Bill Wilson), granddaughter, Meredith Rosenbeck (nee Marcinko) (Andy Rosenbeck), two great grandchildren, Juliet and Colin Rosenbeck, sister Betty Ann Donovan, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bonnie Bauer Lucia, brothers Joe and James Lucia and sisters Margaret Piccirillo and Maria Coppola.
Friends and family may call on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue W., Warren, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. by Fr. Richard Tomasone, Pastor, officiating and Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, Pastor of First Lutheran Church, assisting. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA., where full military honors will be bestowed by the Sheffield, Clarendon, and Warren V.F.W Funeral Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Personnel.
