Floyd A. Reed, 82, of N. Warren, PA., died Monday, October 2, 2017 at U.P.M.C. Hamot, Erie, PA. He was born April 21, 1935 in Bradford, PA. Floyd was the son of Russell and Jennie Barr Reed.
He was a 1954 graduate of Bradford High School. He was a peacetime veteran with the U.S. Army in Germany, as a Private First Class. Floyd was employed for 29 years with Georgia Pacific as a Rotary Die Press Operator and for 14 years with Zippo as a buffer, retiring in 1997. He then moved to Warren, PA. Floyd was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church and a former member of St. Bernard R.C. Church, Bradford, PA. He was an active volunteer as a dishwasher for any church function. He was an avid golfer, bowler, hunter, bocce player, WWE Wresting fan, and a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan. He was a true lover of animals
He is survived by his 3 daughters – Cindy Nuhfer and husband, Joe of Warren, PA., Denai Ray and husband, James of Rome, N.Y., Sandy Davis and husband, Kenny of Jamestown, N.Y., his sunshine, Peg Paul of Warren, PA., 1 sister – Virginia Rose and husband, Larry of Punxsutawney, PA., 1 Brother – Vay Reed and wife, Anne of Bradford, PA., 6 Grandchildren – Noelle and Melissa Nuhfer, Josh and Erin Ray, Cameron and Clarissa Davis and 6 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn M. Read Reed whom he married April 7, 1956 at St. Francis Church, Bradford, PA., who died March 3, 2008.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted at 3:45 P.M. by Deacon Raymond Wiehagen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, PA., on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating.
