Evan W. Wilcox, of Russell, PA., died Friday, December 31, 2021, at the residence, he was born in 97 years ago. He was born December 21, 1924. Evan was the son of George C. and Margaret White Wilcox. He was a 1942 graduate of the former Lander High School of which he was Valedictorian. During high school years, he was a member of the FFA-Future Farmers of America. Evan was a dairy farmer his entire life. He took over the family farm in 1957 and was owner/operator of the Pineton Farms, which his family still operates. He was a member of the Warren County DHIA-Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He served on the local and county FSA, which is a government program administered locally. He had also served on the Falconer Agway Committee, which serves our local areas. Evan was a member of the Lander-Farmington Grange as well as the Akeley Grange where he was an active member and held many Grange officer positions. He was a member of the 4-H and later served as a 4-H leader for the 4-H garden club. Evan had served on the Warren County Extension Board of Directors and served as President of their executive committee. He had also served on the former Northern Area School Board of Directors. He was a member of the Wiltsie Community Church. Evan was extremely proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a true family man.

He is survived by his 4 children – George C. Wilcox and wife, Nancy of Erie, PA., Howard Wilcox and wife, Maryann, Craig Wilcox and wife, Carol, Carmen Wilcox all of Russell, PA., 12 Grandchildren, Scott (Meredith) Wilcox, Shaun Wilcox, Ryan Wilcox, Samantha (Josh) Snyder, Dustin (Erin) Wilcox, Kristen (Kirk) Guiher, Drew Wilcox, Lacey (Scott) Schuler, Lindsey (Justin) Kramer, Mandy (Eric) Dickerson, Kelsi (Charles) Boyles, Meggi (Cody) Brown, 15 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, just 26 days ago, Dorothy Nelson Wilcox, who died December 6, 2021, whom he married November 8, 1947, in Warren, PA., 1 Brother – Lloyd F. Wilcox.

A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., with Rev. Todd Venman, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Foster Cemetery, Lander, PA.
