Elnora K. Franklin, 96, passed away, Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Rouse Warren County Home, Youngsville, PA., following a lengthy illness. She was born September 24, 1923 in Youngsville, PA., daughter of the late William and Laura Coleman Sweetland. Elnora was a life long resident of the area. She started her working career at the former New Process Company after graduating from Youngsville High School. Moving on to GTE Sylvania, Warren Steel Company and finally on retirement opening Franklin’s Encore Apparel with her husband. She married William “Paul” Franklin in Youngsville, PA., on June 15, 1946 who died May 28, 2005. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Warren, enjoying quilting for their overseas program.
Elnora is survived by a daughter, Valerie Franklin of Twinsburg, OH., 2 Sons – Gary (Debbie) Franklin of Warren, PA., Randall (Kathy) Franklin of Binghamton, N.Y., niece – Gloria Burns of Warren, PA., 5 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Taylor.

Val,Gary,Randy,and Gloria. My sincere condolences to you and your families. Norrie was the very definition of a true matriarch. She was a “can do” person who answered every call in life. Her work ethic and devotion to family left a great legacy to all those who crossed her path. May God Bless you with great memories of a life well lived.

My condolences to daughter Valerie and to niece Gloria and the rest of the family members. I am the daughter of Herman and Virginia Ruhlman and live now in Vallejo, CA and just read this in the Warren Times Observer. I remember fondly childhood memories when we would all get together.
