Elizabeth “Betty” McPherson, 88, of Warren, PA., died peacefully, Saturday morning, February 22, 2025, at AHN St. Vincent Hospital, Erie, PA., after a brief illness. Betty was born in Claysville, PA. She was the daughter of Hazel Anderson McCrerey. She was a resident of Warren, PA., for the past 51 years, moving from Claysville, PA. Betty was employed with the Boy Scouts of America Chief Cornplanter Council for many years, retiring from there. She was a lifetime member of the women’s auxiliary at the Claysville American Legion Hunt-Kennedy Post 639. She was an avid golfer and a member with the Tuesday Ladies League at Blueberry Golf Club. She is remembered as a loving, caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Family was the center of her life.
She is survived by her 3 children – Kim E. Mast and husband, Mark of Washington, PA., Michael C. McPherson and wife, Lisa of Warren, PA., Robert McPherson and wife, Pam of West Alexander, PA., 1 brother – Terry R. McCrerey and wife, Debbie of McKinney, TX., 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Charles R. McPherson, who died May 12, 2000, whom she married June 18, 1954, in Maryland, 1 brother – Charles McCrerey and 1 sister – Patricia MacCartney.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Claysville Cemetery, Claysville, PA.
