Donald W. MacKenzie, 65, of Warren passed away on Sunday January 23, 2022, in his home.
He was born in Warren, on January 9, 1957, the son of the late William E. and Gloria Mae (Keyes) MacKenzie. Don was a graduate of Warren High School, and of the Methodist faith. He retired after 21 years of service from the United States Navy as a Boiler Technician and held a rank of E-6.
Donald loved the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was also a very helpful and thoughtful person, and always willing to lend a hand to his family and friends. Donald married Eris Joy in Sugar Grove, on January 28, 2015. She and her son, John, were the joy of Don’s life.
Donald is survived by his loving wife Eris; stepson, John Nunez, of Warren; brother, Charles MacKenzie and wife, Tina, of Clarendon; sister-in-law, Diane S. MacKenzie; nephews; Shane W. MacKenzie, and his children, Kaylee R., and Aden W., of Warren; Lance Ferrand and Camden Ferrand.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William H. MacKenzie.
Friends may call on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm in the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St. Warren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Dale Haight, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Youngsville American Legion Post #658. Please except my sincere Condolences to his wife and family. Chuck, Tina, Diane and Shane. He’s gone all too soon. Nobody tells you that at a certain age you watch so many friends and die. I knew he had many health problems but I still find it hard to believe he’s gone forever. I still miss both Bills and Gloria. I loved your Mom and Dad and have many memories of the McKenzie clan.
