Diana L. Bailey, 81, of Warren, PA, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Rouse Home.
She was born on March 13, 1943, in Olean, NY, and was the daughter of the late Norman McCool and Helen Adams. Diana married her husband, Arthur Bailey, in Red House, NY, on December 12, 1959. She spent most of her working life at the Blair Corporation as a supervisor until her retirement.
Diana’s life was focused on her family and on singing. She had a servant heart, was always ready and willing to help whenever anybody needed anything, with no thought of herself. She could always be counted on to be ready with a meal or a helping hand. Her face would light up when one of her favorite songs would start playing. She would immediately start to sing along, often harmonizing beautifully, a lifelong favorite pastime she enjoyed with her late sister, Ardith. She might not always know the words, but that didn’t matter, the songs were from the heart.
She is survived by her 5 loving children; Dwayne (Mary), Denise Stromdahl (John), Darby (Lisa), Art (Jennifer), and Corey (Jennifer); 41 grandchildren, great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Judith and Ardith, and her beloved stepfather, William Adams.
Friends may call on Friday September 13, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St. Warren, PA. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Matthew Scott, pastor, Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, officiating. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Barnes Cemetery. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through a charity of one’s choice.
