David R. Olney, 63, of Warren, PA, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Warren General Hospital, Warren, PA.
Born on November 6, 1952 in Warren, PA, he was the beloved son of Richard W. and Elaine Gibson Olney. On October 19, 1980 in Warren, PA, he married Joy Stanton who survives.
David was the 5th generation of his family to be living on the family farm. He was currently employed at Grace United Methodist Church in Warren, PA. He had an extreme appreciation for the outdoors and was an accomplished musician, playing the piano, guitar and vocals. Dave also had a great love of animals. He was a loving brother to his sister and brother-in-law and caring Uncle to his Stanton nephews and their families.
In addition to his wife, Joy, David is survived by his mother, Elaine Olney of Warren, PA, a sister Sue Toombs and her husband, Raymond, of Warren, PA, and one aunt, Marjorie Erickson of Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Canada. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard W. Olney, who died on June 26, 2016. At David’s request there will be no visitation or formal service.
