Susan,
You have my deepest of sympathies for the passing of Dan. He and I served together in the Navy. We me while he and I was going to electronics school to become Fire Controlmen (computer controle of the firing of the gun). His first ship was the USS Basilone. I cann’t remember where his ship was stationed, I was on a ship out of Norfolk and I know he wasn’t there. When his ship visited Norfolk, we always got together, he came and stayed with my wife, son and me. We even met up overseas a couple of times. Dan or “Daniel” as I lovingly called him was my best friend. Dan was the Best Man at my wedding while we were in Electrtonics School. Dan was so passionate about life and the best friend anyone could have. He never turned me down when I asked a favor, nor I him. I think he contacted me about 25 years ago and it was good to hear his voice. I shed a tear as I do today. Your family lost a wonderful, unique, loving, true to his word man. I know the sadness you’ve felt since I lost my wife Feb. 23, 1917. I would love to hear from you if you care to write back to mikew72714@gmail.com. Bless you and your family, Dan was one of a kind and loved and cherised by many.
