Charles Donald Schreckengost, 67, of Russell, PA died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Warren General Hospital.
Born on November 3, 1946 in Oak Ridge, PA he was the son of the late Charles David and Bonnie Neese Schreckengost. Charles work at United Refining Company for 27 years and later worked in the maintenance department at the Warren State Hospital. He served with the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid softball player in his younger years.
Charles is survived by his wife, Judith Elaine Lindell Schreckengost. They were married on October 9, 1971 in Tidioute, PA. He is also survived by two children, Jill Malmgren and her husband, Jorgen, of Mint Hill, NC, and Eric C. Schreckengost of Conneaut Lake, PA, one grandson, Kason Schreckengost, one brother, Dave Neese and his wife, Betty, of Corsica, PA, and three nephews, Dave Brosious, Matt Proper and Andy Proper. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Vicki Brosious and Robyn Schreckengost.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from Noon – 2:00 P.M. at which time funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of Warren General Hospital, officiating. Full military honors will be conducted at the service by members of the John Gertsch Vietnam Memorial Post and U. S.
