Casey A. (Bova) Casel, 60, of Jamestown, New York, formerly of Warren, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening May 12, 2022, at UPMC Chautauqua.
She was born in Warren, PA on January 18, 1962, the daughter of the late Peter J. Bova Sr. and Joan Elizabeth Boyd Bova. Casey co-owned and operated Big Joe’s in Warren, PA and provided care for animals at Happy Hounds Hotel and Day Spa in Lakewood, NY.
Casey was of the Roman Catholic Faith, devoted mother, enjoyed crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, Harry Potter, and spending time with her fur grandbabies.
Casey was predeceased by her beloved Pomeranian, Greta. She is survived by her loving husband, Jess Casel of Jamestown, NY; three children, Matthew C. Casel and significant other Ariel of Rochester, NY, Jacob R. Casel and fiancé’ Leigha of Buffalo, NY, and Sarah M. Casel and husband Robert Evans, of Jamestown, NY; siblings Peter Bova Jr. of Youngsville, Kerry Buchanan and husband Richard, Jane Highhouse and husband Jim, both of Warren, and Elizabeth “Bib” Lasecki and husband Kevin of Scandia, PA; Casey is also survived by her fur grandbabies, Boo, Teufel, Kodey, and Jack; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday May 23, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St. Warren, PA 16365. We knew Casey from Happy Hounds. She was very fond of our long haired chihuahua (Charlie) and actually stayed after her shift to hang out with him. She said he looked like her “Greta”. Charlie is not comfortable with everyone, but he loved Casey. God rest her soul.
