Carl Joseph Luppino, 88, of Warren, PA died suddenly on January 2, 2025, after suffering a heart attack. He bravely battled Parkinson’s Disease for several years.
Carl was born as Carmelo Giuseppe Luppino on November 7, 1936, in Tionesta, PA to the late Nicola and Concetta Leuzzi Luppino. Carl graduated from Franklin High School in 1954, and then served in the U.S. Navy for three years. After completing his time in the Navy, Carl attended Bryant & Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo, NY and earned an associate degree in accounting. Following school, he resided and worked in New York City where he met Catherine Cormack. Carl and Cathie married on October 12, 1963, in Tuckahoe, NY, and, after marrying, they resided in Yonkers, NY.
Carl and his family left New York to move to Franklin, PA where Carl worked for Joy Manufacturing Company. The family then moved to Warren, PA in 1974 where Carl worked in the accounting department of the National Forge Company. He later served as the manager of the department and retired in June of 1999. Carl was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council and very much enjoyed playing cards at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Carl served as the accountant/treasurer for the Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department for 38 years and for the Warren County Fair for 10 years. He was a member of the National Association of Accountants. Carl and his wife enjoyed many years square dancing with Circle 8. Carl continued his weekly ritual of card playing with his buddies and always enjoyed playing cards with his grandchildren. Over the last several years Carl and Cathie spent winters in Florida. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, dancing, huge bowls of ice cream, golfing, and eventually being along for the ride in the golf cart when he could no longer play. He loved telling jokes and making us all laugh. He could tell a joke like no other.
Carl was a kind and loving husband, father, grandad, and great grandad. The world won’t be the same without him. His family adored and loved him more than words can say. Give your loved ones a hug when you can because you never know when it will be your last.

Grief never ends, but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. It is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. Grief is the price of love.

I was fortunate enough to have coached Little League baseball with Carl. Easygoing, knowledgeable, a teacher through positive motivation, not yelling or anger. He made my life better. Godspeed.

Deepest condolences to all. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Carl is a true servant example for all those he crossed paths with. His obituary is deeply admirable. “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” ~ Matthew 5:4.
Carl worked with me for the 2000 Census after he retired. He left such a positive impression on me. I miss seeing him in Church. He was such a kind person with such integrity and character. Condolences to the family.
What a fantastic person Uncle Carl was, a true gentleman, so laid back, funny, brilliant sense of humour that made everyone around him would burst into smiles.
Very fond memories of great holidays both in the U.S. and Scotland growing up. What a legacy he has left behind and when anyone in the family thinks of him they will certainly put a big smile on their faces which will give comfort to them.
Thoughts and prayers to all the family at this very sad time.
Great memories of golfing with Carl and my father in law Alan McCallum whilst on holiday. Good happy times indeed.
RIP Carl
