Betty M. Johnson, 84, of Warren, PA. died unexpectedly at Warren General Hospital Emergency Room, Thursday, October 9, 2014. She was born in Warren, PA., and was the daughter of the late Martin V. and Violet Anthony Carlson, Sr. Betty was a 1948 graduate of Warren High School and had been employed with Penn DOT in the records keeping department. She had previously worked for the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes, Miss., in the records dept. during the Korean War. She was a member of North Warren Presbyterian Church. Betty enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, spending time with friends, family and especially her husband on their back porch swing.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Verner “Vern” Johnson whom she married August 3, 1951 in Warren, PA., 2 Sons – Rick Johnson and wife, Kathleen, Bradley Johnson and wife, Nicole, 1 Brother – William F. Carlson and wife, Janet, 3 Grandchildren – Sarah, Rachele, Christian Johnson all of Warren, PA., several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by 3 Brothers – Robert D., Martin V. and William F. Carlson.
Private memorial services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through North Warren Presbyterian Church, 200 South State Street, Warren, PA. 16365.
