Betty Lou Smith, 85, of Warren, PA., died peacefully Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Warren Manor Nursing Home, Warren, PA. Betty Lou was born November 9, 1936, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of the late Marshall and Lula M Hulings Emerson.
She was a lifelong Warren area resident and a 1954 graduate of Warren High School. Betty Lou was employed at the Warren Moose Lodge 109 for 30+ years as a bartender and was previously employed at the former Candlelite. She was a member of the Ladies of the Warren Moose Lodge 109, Warren American Legion Post 135 Ladies Auxiliary, Warren Eagles Aerie. She is remembered by her family as a woman who was the best mom and grandma a person could ever ask for. She always loved spending time with her family and friends, a true social butterfly.
She is survived by her three children – Jeffrey M. Smith and wife, Michelle of Cumming, GA., Luanne M. McConnell of Warren, PA., Gregory J. Smith and wife, Heather of Pittsboro, N.C. 5 Grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Britney Stevens, Brandon Smith, Hunter McConnell, Mackenzie Hall, Alexandra Smith, 2 Great Grandchildren, Grayson Stevens, and Indie Ferraris.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband John F. Smith who died August 22, 2015, her longtime life companion, Raymond Peterson, who died November 23, 2014.
Friends and family will be received at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 5 to 7 P.M. A funeral and committal service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. by Rev. Dr. Dale Haight. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Warren, PA. Betty Lou was a wonderful woman. Vicki and I used to see her with Ray Peterson having the times of their lives. She will be missed by many who loved her dearly . GOD BLESS
