Bertie McConnell Glotz, 83, of Warren, PA., and formerly of
Russell, PA., died Wednesday, September 9, 2015, two months to
the day, after her husband’s death, at the John and Orpha Blair
Hospice Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born
December 20, 1931 in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of
Arthur and Adeline Spohn McConnell. She was a 1949 graduate
of Warren High School where she helped with all reunions and
monthly luncheons. Bertie was employed for 40 years at G.T.E.
Sylvania, in the Wire department, retiring in 1991. .
She was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church and a former
member of St. Joseph R.C. Church. She loved gardening in her
flower beds and vegetable garden. She was the most happiest,
when she was the busiest, she is remembered as a loving, caring
and kind hard worker, who also was an energetic spit-fire. Bertie
enjoyed nature, going on walks, collecting dolls and angels,
antiques and the history of Warren, decorating, shopping and
loved her animals. She especially enjoyed and loved listening
and dancing with her lover to Polka music. She loved being a
caregiver, especially helping to take care of her mother and sister.
Family was always the center of her life, putting her husband,
daughter and son-in-law, ahead of anything else.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Grolemund and
husband, Ray of Kane, PA., her sister, Jane Kitelinger of Warren,
PA., 1 Step Granddaughter – Amy Halvorson and husband,
Chris, 4 Step Great Grandchildren – Travis, Chase, Hailey and
Hannah, all of San Antonio, TX., several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Andrew J. Glotz, whom Bertie affectionately called him
“Lover,” who died July 9, 2015 whom she married September 12,
1959 at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 5 Brothers – Joseph, Melvin,
Delbert “Pete”, Leo and Charles “Lindy” McConnell, 1 Sister –
Adeline McKelvey.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304
East Street, Warren, PA. on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 2 to 4
and 6 to 8 P.M. where a rosary will be recited at 1:30 P.M. and a
vigil service will be conducted at 1:45 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on what would
have been their 56th Wedding anniversary, Saturday, September
12, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell
Street, Warren, PA., with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. Those wishing to

When I dance my favorite dance…the Slovenian waltz, I feel I am reaching my hands towards heaven and touching my loved ones….family who are in heaven and now you and Andy.
