Bernadine Marie “Bernie” Keith, 80, of Warren, PA., passed away peacefully on Friday morning, March 6, 2020. Bernie was born April 26, 1939 in Morann, PA to the late Robert and Mable Greenland Rodkey. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Warren, PA. During the Spring and Summer season you were sure to find Bernie sitting on her front porch, enjoying her flowers and the action from the hummingbird feeder. Many friends and neighbors would pass by whether on foot or car and visit. While sitting on the porch she learned about people, their joys, trials and helped when she could. Over the years, many children enjoyed sitting on the porch with Bernie and eating cookie or popsicle and reading a book before bedtime. She always had sidewalk chalk and a basket of toys for all of the children who visited.
Bernie showed her love by cooking and baking for those in need, or someone that just came to her mind. You could taste the love with every bite of her food that you enjoyed. Bernie spent many years catering with her friend Ann Simmons. To this day, people still remember her catering and her delicious food. She was a well-known crafter and sewer. Many people have received beautiful baby clothes, blankets, and more over the years.
Bernie enjoyed taking care of her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernie and Grump enjoyed traveling to see Bob and Glenn and their families. They took trips to Branson, Missouri, Florida, cruises, and more.
Bernie loved spending time at the Keith Camp in Cherry Grove for many years.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Glenn “Grump” Keith, whom she married on February 27, 1960 in Houtzdale,, PA., her sons, Glenn Keith, Jr and wife, Jennifer of Ashland, OH., Robert Keith and wife, Kelli of Lakeville, Minnesota, 5 grandchildren, Emily Anauo and husband, Andrew of Waconia, Minnesota, Amanda Carter and husband, Matthew of Independence, Kansas, Tanner Keith of Ohahu, Hawaii and Calvin and Piper Keith of Lakeville, Minnesota, 3 great grandchildren – Max and Loreli Anauo and Benjamin Carter, her sister – Nancy Kochan and husband, Michael of Morann, PA., several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Walter and Gerald Rodkey and an infant son.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Monday, March 9, 2020 from 6 to 8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA. with Fr. Richard Tomasone, Pastor, officiating.
