Allen D. Pulsney, 75, of Russell, PA. died Monday Morning, September 22, 2014 at the Rouse Warren County Home after an extended illness. He was born September 8, 1939 in Philipsburg, PA. He was the son of the late Andrew and Thelma Brady Pulsney. He was a resident of Russell, PA. for the past 46 years.
He was formerly of Beccaria, PA. Allen was 1957 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and served with the U.S. Army as a Private First Class with the 88th Ordinance Company, providing Automotive repairs. He was employed as the former Superintendent at Pine Grove Cemetery and was an aide at the Warren State Hospital. He was owner and operator of the former Scandia Store, Country Drive In Restaurant, Easy Care Lawn Service, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Russell United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler, hunter, gardener, do it yourselfer who enjoyed doing for others. He especially enjoyed spending time and love of his grand kids.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Hurtock Pulsney whom he married June 3, 1967 in Ramey, PA., 2 daughters – Paula Walsh and husband, John of Youngsville, PA., Jennifer Gray and Dennis Knopf of Warren, PA., 3 Brothers – Sherman Pulsney and wife, Judy of Philipsburg, PA., Joe Pulsney and wife, Sandy of Palm Bay, FL., Gene Pulsney and wife, Sue of Altoona, PA., 4 Grandchildren – Christine, Jeremy and Joshua Walsh, Madison Gray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Anthony Pulsney and his beloved dog, Jake.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, Pa. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. and on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. when a funeral service will be conducted by Rev. David Heckman, Pastor, officiating. Full military honors will follow the funeral service by members of the John Gertsch Vietnam Memorial Post and the U.S. Army personnel. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA. Nancy, Paula and Jenny. So sorry about Dean. The Pulsney family has been a big part of my life and my memories include so many with Dean and all of you. My prayers to everyone to get through this.
