Frances McCoy
Frances Ermina “Mina” McCoy, 91, of Warren, PA. died Thursday morning, October 11, 2012 at the Golden Living-Walnut Creek, Erie, PA. after a 6 month illness. She was born July 2, 1921 in Wynona, OK to the late Henry and Elizabeth Buchheit Lorenz.
She was a Warren area her entire life. She is fondly remembered as a great mother and grandmother, who always put everybody else first. She would always bake four loaves of homemade bread when family would get together. She was an avid walker, enjoyed baking, reading and traveling. She celebrated her 80th birthday in Hawaii. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church and had worked many election days at voting polls.
Mina is survived by 10 children – Mike (Barb) McCoy of Alamo, CA., Mary (Michael) Michalechen of Christiana, PA., Joe (Rene) McCoy, Pat (Stacey) McCoy, Tim McCoy all of Erie, PA., Dan McCoy of Warren, PA., Bobbie (Tim) Howell of Pittsfield, PA.,
Terry McCoy of Erie, PA., Ann (Dallas) McHenry of Warren, PA., Neil (Gayle) McCoy of Erie, PA., 1 Sister – Phyllis Dunham of Pleasantville, PA., 1 Brother – Bill Lorenz of Warren, PA., 25 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. McCoy who died July 8, 1977 whom she married September 22, 1945 at St. Joseph R.C. Church, Warren, PA., 1 Son – John McCoy who died December 31, 1991, 2 Brothers – John and Dick Lorenz, 2 Sisters – Bette Lorenz, Mary Billsbourgh. Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:45 P.M. by Deacon Joseph Lucia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday, October 15, 2012, 10 A.M. at St. Joseph R.C. Church with Fr. Richard J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Mina. You are always too young to lose your Mom. Your family was a part of my growing up at St. Joe’s, and I remember your Mom, as such a nice person.
