Roseclaire Rogers Curren, formerly of Pleasant Township, died peacefully December 30, 2019 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House surrounded by her children. She was born July 2, 1924 in Rockaway Beach, NY to Joseph and Mary Rogers and was the youngest of five children. Raised in Far Rockaway, she attended and graduated from Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in Ozone Park, NY, in 1942. She married Richard G. Curren, Sr. on June 17, 1946, in Belle Harbor, Queens, NY, and moved to Warren where she and Dick raised their four children in the home they built in Pleasant Township.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Mazie, James, Joseph and William. Also preceding her in death are her husband Dick on March 9, 2007, her granddaughter Aoife Bacon on October 30, 2013, and more recently her son Michael who died February 20, 2018. She is survived by her son Richard Curren, Jr. (Susan), her daughter Mary Ann Curren (Jon Nussbaum), her son Thomas Curren (Cathi) and her daughter-in-law Laurie Curren, several nieces and nephews, and godson Jim Day, considered as family by the Currens. She left behind a legacy of 13 grandchildren: Brian Curren, Shawn Curren, Amy Atkinson, Mary Beth McNamee, Mike Curren, Jr., Molly Bacon, James Curren, Scott Curren, Kara Hundley, Patrick Curren, Emily Federowicz, Catherine Curren, and Meaghan Curren and 22 great-grandchildren, the youngest of whom was born just 6 short weeks ago.
She was a member of St. Joseph parish and was active in St. Joseph PTA . She enjoyed reading and sewing. After raising her children thru school age, Roseclaire worked as the Executive Director of the Warren County Chapter of the American Red Cross for many years.
She and Dick reveled in family celebrations – there were many! Together they traveled, played golf, and enjoyed many wonderful and lasting friendships. A highlight for Roseclaire and Dick were two family trips to Ireland. After Dick’s passing in 2007, Roseclaire remained as her family’s strong and loving matriarch and enjoyed their love and devotion throughout. She will be remembered for her intelligence, her spark, her humor, her fashion sense, and her love of a good and feisty discussion among family and friends. She was most proud of her family and of her Irish heritage. She will be sorely missed.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the many staff members at the Rouse Suites and Rouse Home for the care given to Roseclaire these last few years.

Bill and I extend our deepest sympathy on the passing of Roseclaire. The few times we met her it was evident what a kind and sweet lady she was. Praying that the healing graces of the Lord will help you all through this very difficult time and in the days to come.
Roseclaire and Dick were two of the finest people Karen and I have ever had the priviledge of knowing…they and our dear friend Mike will always be fondly remembered and in our prayers always. In the years that we lived in Warren, no one made us feel more welcome than the Curren family and our love goes out to you all at this difficult time.
All our love to you all,
Karen and Liam Murphy
Liam, Karen –
So good to hear from you and such kind words. Everyone was so surprised (and pleased) to see the flowers you sent for Roseclaire. They were lovely and now they are gracing my coffee table – good thing I have a large table. I hope you both and Brendon and Leslie are doing well. You are always welcome here if you get the urge to come this way – I have a couple spare bedrooms available anytime.
Much love to you and again, my thanks for your expression of sympathy. Laurie
