H. Jeanette “Jenny” Preston, 80, of Pleasant Twp., Warren, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA.
Born on February 12, 1939 in Chicora, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Harvey and Anna (Reddick) Moore. On May 1, 1959 in Chicora, PA, she married Robert J. “Bob” Preston, who passed away on March 18, 2018.
Jenny was formerly employed at PNC Bank and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she served as President of WELCA, was a Council member, served on the funeral luncheon committee, Prayer Shawl Committee, and was the sauerkraut dinner leader for many years. She was a former Judge of Elections for Pleasant Township and was a former member of the Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary where she enjoyed calling Bingo. She was also a member and Past Worthy Matron of Youngsville Chapter # 478 Order of the Eastern Star. Jenny was a “Mom” to many. She connected with her grandkids while building puzzles and playing games. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Jenny is survived by her children – Rick Preston and Kelly Gilmond of Youngsville, PA; Bryan Preston and his wife, Teresa, of Memphis, TN; Jennifer Barrett and her husband, Rich, of Russell, PA; and Janice Sheldon and her husband, Chris, of Tully, NY; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 sister – Molly McCurdy of Fort Worth, TX and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jenny was preceded in death by 2 sisters – Phyllis Jean Kohlmeyer and Janice McCanna.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA, on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, with an Eastern Star service to be conducted at 7:45pm. Friends may also call on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Church, 200 Pleasant Drive, Warren, PA, from 10am until a funeral service to be conducted at 10:30am with Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, Pastor of First Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
