Wanda I. Thomas, 93, a resident of the Rouse Warren County Home, formerly of Warren and Conneautville, PA. died Wednesday morning, May 29, 2019 after an extended illness.
She was born October 26, 1925 in Beaver Falls, PA. to the late
Michael and Stella Zakrzewska Orlasky. Wanda along with her husband, owned and operated Chuck’s Ashland Service Station for 35 years in Conneautville, PA. She was a member of St. Peter R. C. Church and the church altar rosary society, moving to Warren, PA. she was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church. Wanda enjoyed playing cards and dominos. Wanda and Chuck were avid bowlers and enjoyed attending bowling tournaments. She was a gracious lady who enjoyed being a hostess with coffee, meals and desserts to her family and friends.
She is survived by her two children – Chuck Thomas and wife, Karen of N. Warren, PA., Barbara Strimple and husband, Ed of South Boston, VA., 3 Grandchildren – Charles Thomas Jr. of Europe and Warren, PA., Laurie Wells and husband Eddie, Shellie Burton and husband, Eric all of South Boston, VA., 3 Great Grandchildren – Kaity Wells, Sophie & Matthew Burton, 3 Great Great Grandchildren – Rhett Gray, Aiden and Ava Harkness, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Thomas, Jr. whom she married July 27, 1946, 2 Sons – Gregory and Charles W. Thomas, III,
Siblings – Virginia Gessner, Hank and Raymond Orlasky, 1 Great Grandchild – Miriah Harkness.
Friends will be received at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA Monday, June 3, 2019 from 9:30 A.M. until a Mass of Christian Burial to be conducted at 10:00 A.M. with Fr Richard Tomasone, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter R.C. Cemetery, Conneautville, PA. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11:30 A.M graveside. I had the pleasure of meeting Wanda when I was doing the family genealogy. I visited her in Coneautville and again in Warren. She was a guest in my home in Allegany once.
