Dorothy Mae Farrell, 93, of Warren, PA, passed away on Wednesday evening, March 27, 2019, at The Watson Home in Warren, PA. Born on August 9, 1925 in Warren, PA, she was the daughter of the late Archie Morrow and Delcie Korb Bimber. On March 2, 1945 in Warren, PA, she married Victor L. Farrell, who died on August 24, 1995. Dorothy was a 1943 graduate of Warren High School. She was employed for many years with the former Warren Bank and Trust Co., where she worked as a clerk teller. Along with her husband she was a charter member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pleasant Twp. She was an avid gardener, loved camping and traveling with her husband. Her family was most important to her and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Dorothy is survived by her 2 children – Stephen Farrell and his wife, Mary Kathleen, of Middlebury Center, PA, and Sandra J. Mattone and her husband, Gerry, of Tucson, AZ; 4 grandchildren – Michelle Mattone, Michael (Rachael) Mattone, Victoria (Jason) Salerno, and Adam (Tarra) Farrell; 3 great-grandchildren – Tyler and Toby Mattone and Cole Benjamin Salerno; 1 sister – Marilyn Sampson of Warren, PA; 1 brother – Russell Bimber of Oberlin, OH; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a granddaughter – Lori Marie Mattone; 2 brothers – John and Stanley Bimber; and a sister – Violet Kavinski; and several nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral and committal service to be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East St., Warren, PA, with Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, officiating. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Those wishing to place a memorial may do so to Watson Memorial Home, 1200 Conewango Ave., Warren, PA, 16365.
