Elli A. Jordan, 79, of Tidioute, PA., died Monday, November 12, 2018 at Cambridge Warren after an illness of the past 2 years. She was born in Berlin, Germany on August 12, 1939 to the late Adalbert Ernst and Edith Kathe Margarete Chmielewske. She was a Tidioute and Warren area resident since 1966 and also had lived in Green Coast Springs, FL. She was employed with G.T.E. Sylvania for 32 years retiring from there in 1999. Elli was always a hard worker with a strong work ethic she instilled in her children. Her children, grandchildren and family were the heart of her being. In her lifetime, she made numerous sacrifices for her family. She especially enjoyed spending time, with family for outings or family functions, shrimping and collecting shells at Sanibel Island, Florida.
She is survived by her 4 children – James Mechling and wife, Lisa of Tidioute, PA., Daniel Mechling and wife, Cheryl of Warren, PA., Jonathan Mechling of Frewsburg, N.Y., Desiree Mechling and husband, Jon Vincent of Russell, PA., 5 Stepchildren – Dan Jordan and Jacqueline Jordan both of Kane, PA., Patrick Jordan and wife, Lisa of Warren, PA., Ronald Jordan of Kane, PA., Donald Jordan of Townville, PA., several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Jordan who died September 15, 2014, 1 Brother – Joachim Bihtsch, 2 Sisters – Eric and Helga Chmielewske. The family wants to publicly acknowledge their appreciation for the love, care and compassion given to their mother, Elli, while a resident at Cambridge Warren.
Friends may call on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. followed by a funeral and committal service at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Ralph Culp, Pastor of Covenant United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Limestone Cemetery, Tidioute, PA.
