Eleanor D. Swanson, 92, of Warren, PA., died Monday morning, August 20, 2018 at Rouse Warren County Home, Youngsville, PA., after an extended illness. She was born August 14, 1926, in Warren, PA. to the late Michael and Mary Bobinko Deliman. Eleanor was a lifelong Warren area resident and a 1944 graduate of Sheffield High School. She was employed for 30 years with the former Struthers Wells Corporation in their accounting department as a secretary. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, the Church Altar Rosary Society, and was very active in the Cursillo Movement. She was a member of Blueberry Golf Course, where she was an avid golfer.
She absolutely loved her bichone dogs. She enjoyed baking cookies and reading.
She is survived by her son – Douglas J Swanson and wife, Susan of Warren, PA., 1 Sister – Joanne Overbeck of Jacksonville, FL., several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Swanson whom she married July 19, 1947 in Warren, PA.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA., on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Richard Tomasone, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C.Cemetery. She was such a kind person, I was lucky to have spent my life growing up next door to her.
Knew Eleanor from Struthers many years ago, always enjoyed seeing and chatting with her, she was super nice gal.
So many fond memories of this wonderful friend: my first golfing buddy, our fun family cookouts together & her generous time watching my children when needed. I’m sure she is so happy in heaven with Marshall.
