Suzanne Therese O’Brien Griffin, 91, passed away on Thursday,
November 16, 2017, at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice home
surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 24,
1926 in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late Leo and Helen Rossiter O’Brien.
While raising her children she worked at the former Cowdrick’s
Drug Store, Sylvania and Anderson’s Shurfine Market. She was a
member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, where she was a
member of the church Altar Rosary Society. She married the love
of her life, John Griffin, who survives, on June 14, 1947 in Buffalo,
N.Y., Sue and Jack moved to Warren, PA., in 1951 and raised their
five children. She was the beloved mother to Kathy Couillard,
Saginaw, Michigan, Karen (Tom) Wickstrom, Mertztown, PA.,
Betsy Griffin, Warren, PA., Dan (Mary) Griffin, Mars, PA.,
Michael (Missy) Griffin, Russell, PA., and grandmother to 7
grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two
sisters , one brother, her daughter-in-law, Cheryle Griffin,
grandson, Brian Couillard, and son-in-law, Gilbert Couillard.
Friends may call at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell Street,
Warren, PA., on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 12:00 Noon
until 1:00 P.M. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted
by Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St.

I have worked with Dan for several years and consider him a good friend.
My mother passed December 2016 after a long 3 years of health struggles, and Dan and I have shared many conversations and feelings for our mothers.
It is difficult, sad, and never easy to experience such times and loss.
