John L. Proebstle, born in Minneapolis, MN, died on Tuesday,
October 31, 2017 in Jackson, MI after an extended illness at the
age of 76. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret
(Peg); their children, Mark (Shelly), Luann (Mark) Proebstle-Wise,
Amy (Thomas) Knepp, and Joel (Kathy); eight grandchildren, and
brother James (Carole). John was preceded in death by his
parents, Leonard and Helen and brother Richard. John was a
Michigan State graduate, a U.S. Army veteran, and employed by
The U.S. Forest Service for 37 years. After working in many
states, he retired in Warren, PA. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed
canoeing, camping, Western style square dancing as well as daily
walks with his dogs. John was a kind, loving, caring husband
and father who will be missed. The family will receive friends on
Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel
Catholic Church in Canton, OH one hour prior to the Mass of
Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please consider a
