We are so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We wish to extend our sympathy to the family..you will be in our thoughts and prayers. He sure was a great guy!!
I’m very saddened to hear the news of Jim’s passing. I knew him during my nursing career at WSH. He was nothing less than professional as a pharmacist, a very kind and soft spoken man. He spoke highly of his family and it was evident that they were all his highest priority in life. He will be remembered with respect and will be missed by many.
We were so sad to hear about Jim’s passing. I have found memories of Jim from spending time at the Wagner house, in Albion, when I was young. I also remember walking to the Pharmacy with Jimmy to visit Jim. He was a really great guy! He will truly be missed! Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wonderful family.
Love,
Allen & Kathy Duda

So very sorry to hear of this loss. He was a very friendly man to us Ohioans. Condolenses to his family.
He found it in his heart to love us flatlander kids. We were beneficiaries and loved him right back. Keeping all the Wagners in our prayers, thoughts, and always–*always*– in our hearts.
Jim Wagner and I grew up together in Harborcreek and he was always a best friend. Before we had cars, and when not in school, we would get together by traveling through the woods and fields that separated Bartlett Road where I lived and Villa Sites where Jim lived. I think that from my house there was about a mile of woods, a fence or two to climb, maybe one road to cross, a sprint across on open field that I’m not sure we were supposed to be on, and then to Jim’s house.
Jim was a great friend. He was always in good spirit with lots of humor but serious about things too – and a great athlete. He liked and spoke well of everyone. We hunted together in the fields near our houses, with my dog Nellie circling rabbits for us. We pulled brush in the grape vineyards to make spending money, shot hoops with Bert Hackenberg in his barn, double dated, and just “palled around” with other good friends from school. Jim liked to target practice with my Dad’s old hexagon barrel 22 rife. He gave it the name “Old Betsy”. Jim was the quarterback and leader of the Huskies football team and I liked being on the offensive line in front of him, although I’m sure there were times when he wished I would have done a better job blocking.
At a Harborcreek class reunion, Jim and I discovered that, although neither of us had acted on the dream we often spoke of about moving to Alaska, we each had an offspring who fulfilled the dream for us. Jim and Mary Lou had been traveling to Alaska to visit their daughter Judy while Carol and I had making the trip to visit our son John. Turned out that Judy and son John lived only about 40 miles from each other on the Alaska Kenai Peninsula. We all got together in Alaska and we were fortunate to have another Harborcreek classmate, Jim Holden and his wife Caryl with us as well. So Jim and I finally got to enjoy Alaska together and we fished together on Cook Inlet – and best of all it was with our families and friends. I will always remember my good friends Jim Wagner and Jim Holden, and will frequently think about and miss them, and they will be especially on my mind when in Alaska.
