Agnes “Aggie” B. Reed, 85, of Warren, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Tuesday morning, August 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 9, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Catherine Betz. She graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in 1957 and later built a fulfilling career as a notary public, proudly serving the community for 17 years at Warren AAA.
On August 6, 1960, she married Samuel B. Reed, with whom she shared a joyful and adventurous marriage until his passing in December, 2011. Together, they raised a beautiful family and created a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Aggie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and was also a member of The Moose Club and the Warren Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
She loved to stay busy with hobbies like crossword puzzles, tole painting, and knitting—and many family members will fondly remember her through the Christmas ornaments and paintings she lovingly handmade and gifted throughout the years. Her creativity and warmth were evident in every stitch and brushstroke.
Aggie led a full and joyful social life. She cherished time spent on girlfriend weekends, bowling trips, Red Hatters outings, and playing cards with friends. After retiring, she and Sam traveled in their fifth wheel, making unforgettable trips to Alaska, Louisiana, and out west following the legendary Route 66 trail with her good friend Rosie.
She is survived by her children:
– Debrah Swanson and her husband Craig, of Russell, PA
– Lori Reed Toth and Joe Occhipinti, of Lebanon, NJ
– S. Brice Reed and his wife Yvonne, of Warren, PA
Her loving spirit lives on in her grandchildren she was so proud of:
K. Bailey Reed, Paul Toth, and Shannon Toth.
Aggie is also survived by her dear sister, Carol Jones, and her husband Ken, of East Aurora, NY, and by her loyal and comforting pets, John-Boy and Ziva. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Jen Stewart and Elvis Wegg, and Susan Guenther for their devoted care and kindness during Aggie’s final years.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave. Warren, PA, 16365, whose compassionate care brought comfort and peace to Aggie and her loved ones.
Agnes B. Reed’s legacy is one of laughter, strength, and unconditional love. Her spark will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her—and in the ornaments, paintings, stories, and cherished memories she leaves behind.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. E-mail condolences may be sent by visiting www.lewisfuneralhomeinc.com. The Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc. has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

Aggie was one of my customers at the Moose Lodge. She then became my friend. Her and Rose made me laugh so hard so many times. Lots of fun memories of bingo, the casino, and just plain hilarious moments. God Bless each of you at this time. So very sorry for your loss.
Thank you for sharing your fond memory . It was always the hight of my trips back home to Warren to play Bingo at the Moose with the ladies
I cherished every day spent with Aggie (grandma). She always put a smile on my face with her jokes and all the great memories we shared together. Im very blessed to have had the 4 plus years of being her primary caregiver and being by her side til the very end. I will always carry a special place in my heart for her. She will be missed dearly. May you rest in peace. I love you to the moon and back always and forever ❤️
I worked with Bruce some years back, and my mom Geri was good friends with Aggie. Between the two I heard many funny stories about Aggie. My mom and aunt were part of the Red Hat group, and those were a bunch of feisty ladies! My condolences to her family, and I hope you will all keep sharing her antics. She would like that.
Becky (Ahlquist) and I offer our most sincere condolences. We have many fond memories of Aggie. Becky still has a picnic basket that Aggie painted.
So very sorry to read of Aggie’s passing. Sam and Aggie were two of my favorite friends in Warren. We were all part of that wonderful family who worked at Warren General Hospital. So many fond memories of our times together. Mine and my wife Honey’s deepest sympathy to Aggie’s children and family. May the Lord grant her eternal life and peace.
