Al and I saw each other probably every day from kindergarten through high school, and occasionally thereafter. His life outside his family revolved around service, as a police officer and a leader in dozens of organizations and projects. In one sense, he had a long and fulfilling life. In another sense … wasn’t it just yesterday that we played tetherball during recess at the old St. Joseph’s School? My sympathies to his family and friends; the departure of people like Al, who make so many good ideas come to pass for all of us, leaves holes in our community. Rest in peace, my friend.
Kim, I am so so sorry. Uncle Al gave me tons of memories growing up. Sending all my love.
I REMEMBER AL FROM HIS FIRST DAY ON THE JOB AS A POLICE CLERK AT THE WARREN, PD. HE ALWAYS DID HIS BEST WHILE ASSISTING THOSE PERSONS NEEDING ASSISTANCE AND HELP .
Rest in eternal peace Uncle Al. You are now at home with your family. I’ll always have my memories of you to look back on. After dad died you were the male figure in my life along with Uncle Bob. I’m grateful for having you around before and after I went in the Navy.
May Al rest in peace. There are many memories with Al when we worked together at the funeral home.
I’m extremely saddened learning of the death of Al Harrison. Alex was one of my all time best friends. We shared many parts of our lives and always kept in touch. Whenever I returned to Warren on leave or to visit family. Al was standing on my family’s front porch before I could unpack my bags. He was a huge contributor to the quality of life in Warren, and dedicated his life to helping others. He was born 6 months after me, but was a year behind in school because of birth date school entry. Thanks Alex for your friendship and service to our nation. You will be missed. Bob Hayes
Dear Kim and family,
We were saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and Holy Redeemer parishioner, Al. Although we now live in Bedford PA, we remember his welcoming smile and service as Eucharistic minister. Karen was on Warren City Council when Al still worked in the police department. He was always dedicated in whatever he chose to do. He was proud of you Kim and is definitely enjoying God’s peace. We were proud to know him.
Al ” T-Bone” Harrison was one of our good friends growing up on Walnut St. in the West End. Please accept my sincere condolences to the Harrison Family. You were a good man Alex and will be missed.
