David Wayne Moore, 69, of Lexington, Kentucky, died Thursday, May 23, 2024, at home following an extended illness.
Born Jan. 3, 1955, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert and Betty Moore, he was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, avid sports fan and he enjoyed spending time with the Central Kentucky Mustang Association as a retiree.
He is survived by his wife of 44-years, Jodi; two daughters — Deb Moore and Kate Alnabelsi and her husband Talal; a grandson, Salem Alnabelsi; a brother, Bob Moore (Margaret); an aunt, Bonnie Sealy; as well as several beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Dave attacked his illness with the same determination and sense of humor that defined his life. A born fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, he grew to love the Kentucky Wildcats thanks to his daughters. A creative thinker, Dave was a self-taught handyman and a zealous gardener. He enjoyed family beach trips, a hand of bridge with friends and family, his wife’s chocolate chip cookies and detailing his 2008 Mustang GT. Dave spent his career as a warehouse manager and in logistics, but it was his time on the sidelines next to Jodi, cheering on their daughters in any athletic competition where he was happiest.
The family will hold a private entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum of the Ascension in Warren, Pennsylvania, at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Central Kentucky Mustang Association. Checks can be mailed to PO Box 910338 Lexington, KY 40513 or via VENMO (@ckyma).
