William A. Blum, 89, of Warren, PA., died Thursday afternoon, August 24, 2023, at Kinzua Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Warren, PA.
William was born July 21, 1934, in Warren, PA. He was raised in Stoneham, PA. where he was one of fourteen siblings, and was a lifelong Warren area resident. He was a graduate of Warren Area High School Class of 1952. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving in Alaska as a Private First Class. When he came home from the service, he was employed with Warren Car Company and then went to work as a Firefighter for the City of Warren Fire Department for 25 years and worked part-time with the Warren County Sherriff Office as a prison guard. He had also did logging work with the John Young Logging Company. He enjoyed camping and was a real outdoorsman.
He is survived by his 6 children – Patty Paulisick and husband, Wade of Warren, PA., Harry Blum of Hickory, N.C., Larry Blum, Jeff Blum both of Warren, PA., Bill Foreman and wife, Debbie of Warren, PA., Kathy Crossley of Ellaville, GA., brother – Dave Blum of Sheffield, PA., Anita Snavley, 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann M. Boughton Blum whom he married May 5, 1962, in Sheffield, PA., who died September 27, 2020.
