Frank J. Zaffino, 90, of Clarendon, PA., died peacefully on Tuesday March 22, 2022, in the Warren Manor Nursing Home, Warren, PA., after an extended illness.
Frank was born in Morrison, PA on November 18, 1931, the son of the late Bruno and Carmela (Valentia) Zaffino. Frank was a lifelong Warren and Clarendon resident. After high school Frank, enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was a Welder by trade and retired from the former Warren Steel after 30 years of service. Frank loved tinkering and fixing anything for anybody, he was always the first person to call when something needed fixed.
Frank was of the Roman Catholic Faith, and a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Warren. He was a member of the Warren American Legion Post # 135 and the Clarendon VFW Post # 314.
Frank is survived by his children; Pamela E. Steinkamp of Warren, Kim A. Cosmano-Stephens, of Prescott, AZ, Scott J. Zaffino and fiancé Cindy Meicher of Nebraska, Karen M. Zaffino of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Kathryn Steinkamp, Warren, Brittany Bradshaw, Centerville, Tawnya Crandell, Idaho, Joshua Cook, Chandler, AZ, Haley Gray, Scottsdale, AZ, Joey Zaffino, Queen Creek, AZ; seven great grandchildren; two former wives, Carol Zaffino Marcos, Chandler, AZ, Linda Carter Ford, Russell; two sisters, Stella Wenzel, Warren, Josephine Feidler, Dallas TX; son in law, John Dase, Clarendon; nieces and nephews, Randy Zaffino, Doug Zaffino, David and wife Corinne Zaffino, Judy Zaffino, Laura Henry, and Laurie Capps. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members.
Frank was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa A. Zaffino-Dase; three brothers, Samuel Zaffino, Louie Zaffino, and Ned Zaffino; three sisters, Angelina T. Kujava, Bernice Zaffino, Lena Piehuta; niece Joanne Zaffino; nephew Danny Zaffino.
Friends may call the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St. Warren PA on Saturday March 26, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be held there on Saturday at 1:00 pm, with the Rev. Richard Tomasone, officiating. Burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Warren. I always had such fond memories of Uncle Frank.I always called him my “favorite” uncle.
He was always a tremendous support for my Mother back in the day. They seemed as if they were always there for each other no matter how bad things were.
I feel bad that we lost touch over the years. I think of him often. I trust that he is in a better place now, free from suffering. May his soul now Rest In Peace.
