Beverly Yvonne Kinney, died peacefully in the arms of her loving husband of 65 years and best friend, James Kinney, on Monday, February 20, 2022, at her home in Warren, Pennsylvania.
The family matriarch, Beverly is survived by her husband, her five children Catherine, Sharon, Carol, Brian and Ali, her 13 grandchildren Jamie, Erin, Lauren, Travis, Savannah, Noah, Benjamin, Brandon, Jason, Elias, Celia, Hannah and Adeline, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Madeline Norton and her sister, Patricia Dorion.
Beverly was born on May 17, 1935, in Port Alleghany. After marrying Jim, they moved to Pleasantville, Pennsylvania, where she sang with the choir at the Presbyterian Church and was involved with the local Women’s Club. After moving to Warren in 1967, Beverly worked at Blair Corporation until she retired in 1996. The couple established what would become the cherished homestead and year-round gathering place for generations of family and friends, where Bev’s homecooked meals and steady warmth were known and eagerly anticipated by all.
An accomplished seamstress, Bev loved time at the ocean, family reunions and traditions like making cider and donuts every fall and traveling the country with Jim in their RV. Her presence was always authentic and strong. Her laugh was as defining as her smile. An early morning cup of coffee with her in her robe felt like home. Bev and Jim loved woodworking together and making things for the family, canning vegetables and jellies and four-wheeling through the mountains. They were hosts at Chapman State Park for many years and love visiting Benezette to see the elk.
A memorial service will be hosted at the Kinney homestead 1930 Cobham Park Road, Warren PA 16365
on Saturday, March 5th at 1pm, with an open time for family and friends to follow. Those wishing to send e-mail condolences may do so by visiting www.lewisfuneralhomeinc.com. The Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Sharon and family, I’m so very sorry for your loss. Hold your beautiful memories close to your heart. I hope they will bring you some peace during this difficult time.
To Jim and the Kinney family- we are so very sad to know that Bev is no longer in our world. She and Jim opened up their home and hearts to me when I started out at Chapman. It made a huge difference to have such wonderful friends to talk to when I was away from my family. Bev with her warmth and pragmatism always got right to the gist of things! We will surely miss her bright spirit. May all of us find comfort in the love we shared with Bev and the many wonderful memories of our times together.
Dear Jim and Family, I will always remember the special friendship you and Bev had with my parents Jack and Betty McCracken. They always had such a great time together. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss at Bev’s passing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Brian and his family. We are never prepared for this day.
