John Paul Loranger, Sr, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Fredericksburg, VA on Tuesday February 8, 2022. He was born in Warren on December 27, 1952, to J. Albert Loranger and Jeannine Dion Loranger. John was a 1971 graduate of Warren High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1976 and was a member of Chi Psi Fraternity. A lifelong Warren resident, John was a dedicated member of Saint Joseph’s Parish and member of the Conewango Club and Conewango Valley Country Club. He worked at Loranger Manufacturing and later for Insert Molding Technologies until he retired in 2015.

John was an avid hunter and fisherman and a fantastic cook. He was also a great basketball player and golfer as well as a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan who delighted in the thrill of competition. He loved music, vigorous political discourse and his family and friends. John was an outgoing and fun-loving man and often the life of the party. He had an infectious laugh, a big smile, and a quick wit.

John is survived by his wife, Patty Kottraba Loranger, his brothers J. Albert Loranger II, George Loranger and Robert Loranger as well as his five sons: J. Paul Loranger Jr and his wife Kelly [Vecellio] Loranger, Matthew Loranger, Michael Loranger, Scott Loranger, and his wife Rebecca Sanders-DeMott and David Loranger. He was also the proud grandparent of his six grandchildren: John Paul III, Preston, Jacob, Noah, Quinn, and Clara. John was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, from 10:00 A.M. until 1;00 P.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial conducted by Fr. Richard Tomasone, Pastor. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
