Teresa Dawes Smales, 86, of Warren, PA died Tuesday morning, December 3, 2013 at Warren Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born April 10, 1927 at Carrollton, NY. Teresa was the daughter of Francesco and Santa Bruno Cataldo. She was a Warren area resident since 1960 and formerly resided in Pompano Beach, FL and Kinzua, PA. Teresa was a 1945 graduate of former Kinzua High School and earned a degree in Beauty School. She was a beautician and owned and operated Teresa Beauty Salon for many years. She had previously worked at Blair Corporation. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church and was an avid walker. She is survived by her 2 children – Diane Bindas and husband, Nelson of Franklin, PA., William J. Dawes, Jr. of Warren, PA. 4 Siblings – Umberto F. Cataldo of Pasadena, MD., Joseph J. Cataldo of Sugar Grove, PA., Frank J. Cataldo, Jr. of Clarendon, PA., Rose Harvoth and husband, Joseph of Cleveland, OH., several nieces and nephews, 4 Grandchildren, Christine McCauley and her husband, Stephen, Erica Thomas and her husband, Steve, Leslie and Michele Dawes, and 5 Great Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, William Dawes, 2nd husband, Harry Smales, 1 brother – Charles Cataldo. Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted Thursday at 1:45 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Friday, December 6, 2013 at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA at 1:00 P.M. with Fr. Raymond Gramata, Pastor of St. Bernard R.C. Church, Bradford, PA., officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
