Floyd E. “Gene” Monticue, 82, of Lander, PA., died Wednesday morning, August 25, 2021, at his residence. He was born July 30, 1939, in Kecksburg, Westmoreland County, PA. He was the son of Edward H. Monticue and Mary Edna Pluck Monticue Berkbile. Gene was a former resident of Somerset, PA. and resided in Warren area most of his life. He had served as a private, serving 7 years with the National Guard and the U.S. Army.
He was employed as a mechanic with the former Smith Buick and Midtown Motors.
He retired from Warren County School District. He was of Pentecostal Faith. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
Gene is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosemarie Falconer Monticue whom he married June 15, 1968, in Lander, PA., 6 children – Edward Eugene Monticue and wife, Rosemarie of Warren, PA., Norma Jean Arnold and husband, Carl of Myersdale, PA., Tracey Kirk and husband, Ron of Warren, PA., Melinda Bevil Allison of Charlotte, N.C., Pamela Fedorchuk and husband, Brian of Warren, PA., DeAnna Tremblay and husband, Joe of Warren, PA., 1 Sister – Katherine Collins and husband, J.C. of Wichita, Kansas, 24 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers– Edward Monticue, Roy Rodgers 1 Sister – Dorothy Dee.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted there on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Dale Haight, officiating. Interment will be in Foster Cemetery, Lander, PA., where full military honors will be conducted by the Youngsville American Legion Post Funeral Honor Guard. Gene, you made it, you’re home!! You have waited so long to be there! You are so loved and in that love you are so missed. I am so glad that yours and Rosie’s paths crossed with mine so long ago! I will forever cherish the memories! Until we meet again, Brother Gene!

Rosie, a word of Encouragement: I know you are going to have some hard times, but remember God is with you all the way and Gene is not far from you: He is only as far as Jesus is and he and Jesus will both be holding you near…..God has put you two together and He is keeping you both in Him…..I know your hurt, for he is my brother, the only one I had left…..call me and we can up-lift each other at times, Love you Rosie…..that Veil is so thin and Jesus is ready to come forth to set up His Kingdom here on Earth His word tells us…..”As it is in Heaven, so shall it be on Earth, Peace, Joy and Love….Bless you Rosie……I wish some one could take videos, I would like to see Gene Honored for being in the Military…..He was good at it…..I thought that Jim Hendershot would have his memorial service……if he is still living…..now contact me…Norma has my tele. #……I have been having a hard time with this Rosie, but I know you would understand……By the way, I think it was the 25 of Aug. of 1971 that Dad went to be with the Lord and here Gene went 50 yrs. after Dad…..the same date…check that out for me……Love you…….Lizzy
Rosemary, We are so sorry for your loss. Gene, you and your family have been our friends for years. You were married a month before us. We feel your loss, but know that Gene is now free from pain and suffering and in a better place. We send our love and hugs.
Won’t say goodbye Uncle Gene,just so long…You traded your garment of clay and flesh for the New garment of where you are ever present with the Lord! You are with all family members that have gone before now… Mother is the only one out of all you that is remaining now…You are Free from pain,hurt heartache and stress..Now you can soar as an Eagle with no limitations..What a grand reunion waiting us!! I am so sure the celebration of your home coming was fantastic and Especially you got to see the One that died for all… you see so clear now..Love ya and will miss you..
