Bernice K. Smith, 92, of Warren, PA died Monday, November 11, 2013 at Golden Living-Kinzua in Warren, PA. Born on June 8, 1921 in Warren, PA she was the daughter of the late John L. and Mary J. Myers Pearce. Bernice was a lifelong resident of Warren and was a 1939 graduate of Warren High School. She was employed with New Process Co. for 6 years and later worked for the Bureau of Employment Security for 13 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church. Bernice was an avid reader and loved to bake and cook. She enjoyed traveling and having company visit at her home. She prided herself in always keeping herself well-dressed. Bernice is survived by two sons, David C. “Wally” Post and his wife, Polly, of Warren, PA, and Wilbur A. Post, III and his wife, Linda, of Gilbert, Arizona, two grandsons, Michael Post of Wilmington, NC, and Collin Post of Gilbert, Arizona, one granddaughter, Jenna Post of Portland, OR, and one great-granddaughter, Erin Post of Wilmington, NC. Bernice was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbur A. Post who died in 1964, her second husband, John H. Smith who died in 1997, and one brother, Charles H. Pearce who died in 1943. Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. A vigil service will be held at 5:45 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA with Fr. Richard J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
