Lois Owen, 59, of Warren, PA, passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2021.
Born on February 13, 1962, in Warren. She was the daughter of late Burton and Delores Johnson. She graduated from Warren Area High School in 1980. She earned her degree as a Registered Nurse from Jamestown Community College in 2009.
Lois loved being a mom to her four daughters. She devoted her life to raising her girls to be the best that they could be. In the past two years, Lois assumed the title of Nana to her grandsons Myles and Dimitri. If there is anything Lois enjoyed more than spending time with her daughters, it was spoiling her grandsons.
Lois was an avid thrifter, she enjoyed searching for good finds at the Good Will and the “50 cent store.” She loved kayaking with Randy, playing bingo at the Eagles club, and cuddling with her dog, Babe. Lois enjoyed walking, biking, and exercising with her friends and family. She absolutely loved the beach and to travel across the world with Randy and her daughters. Lois was a fan of mystery books and carried a book to read wherever she went.
Lois worked as a RN at Warren State Hospital for 25 years. Her care for the patients at the State Hospital will be greatly remembered.
Lois is survived by her children: Emmy (Vincent) Johnson of Bedford, PA, Erin (Chris) Johnson of Reston, VA, Svea Owen of New York City, NY, Izzy (Coll) Owen of Rockville, MD, Ryan (Julie) Wilson of Warren, PA, Andrea (Joe) Heller of Coudersport, PA. Her grandchildren: Myles Johnson, Dimitri Watkins, Grayce, Reed, and Cael Wilson and Alex and Emi Heller. Her loving significant other: Randy Wilson of Scandia, PA.
Her siblings: Diane (Ray) Kolasa of Strasburg, OH, Earnest (Paula) Johnson of Russell, PA, and Julie Johnson of Fort Lauderdale, FL and many nieces and nephews who she loved as her own children.
Lois was preceded in death by her father: Burton Johnson; mother: Delores Johnson; stepmother: Mildred Johnson; brother: James Johnson. Friends may call at the Donald E. What an amazing person Lois was & I feel privileged to have known her and have worked with her. Sharing in your sadness – she will be greatly missed
Lois first trained me when I started at Warren State Hospital. She was always full of life and will be sadly missed. She always talked about her daughters and how proud she was of them. Sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
It is with my deepest sympathy and sorrow to hear of Lois passing. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her and loved her. I will always remember meeting Lois after I started working at Warren State Hospital, she was kind to all that she taught. I will always remember her saying to me “ah don’t worry about it ” and me trying to justify my worry and her coming back with “why worry about something you can’t change, it will just eat you alive”. This is something I’ve tried very hard to live by because I know she did. She was one of the strongest women I’ve ever met. So full of positivity, laughter and a caring heart even during her hardest days. My heart, prayers and thoughts are with her family, friends and loved ones that are dealing with this difficult time. May you gain strength and peace in knowing that she was loved by many, touched many lives and will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace my friend. Until we meet again.
For Lois’s entire family. I send my thoughts and prayers. She was a very nice student and when I lived up on Jackson Avenue she was a very nice neighbor. For all her friends that knew her, may you remember all of the fun times you had together. So young- so very young. God Bless.
We did not know Lois personally. Only from the comments of our daughter who worked with Erin?she had to be a beautiful lady. Our thoughts and prayer go out to the family.
