William A. “Bill” Tucker, 67, of Warren, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 19, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA.
Born on October 24, 1953 in Warren, PA, he was the son of the late Robert D. and Anna Mae Shephard Tucker. Bill was a 1971 graduate of Warren Area High School. He later graduated from Jamestown Business College with degrees in Sales and Marketing, and Accounting. He was employed with the Blair Corporation for 35 years, retiring as Vice President of Mailing. Bill was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was active on many church committees, helped with work bees, and would provide special music for worship services.
He was active with several area bands; the Jamestown Community College Band, and Jazz Band, Pearl City Jazz Band, Elks Band, and the Jamestown Municipal Band. Being very community minded, Bill was active with The Toy Shoppe of Warren, Warren Jaycees, Boy Scouts of America, served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity, the Ruth Smith Home, and the Warren Civic Orchestra. Bill enjoyed cooking, woodworking, gardening, reading history books, and was a Civil War buff. He especially loved being a Dad to his girls, and Papa to his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dee Dee Weber Tucker, whom he married on June 23, 1973 in Warren, PA; 3 children – Emily Kate Tucker Laird and her husband, Price, of Lawrenceville, GA and their children – Lacey Laird and her children, Maelin and Bailey, and Mason Laird and daughter, Irie; Megan Elizabeth Tucker Keiper and her husband, Aaron, of Loganville, GA, and their children – Emilyn and Adysen Keiper; and Dorothy Anne Tucker Dunst and her husband, Michael, of Cleveland, OH, and their children – Matthew and Braeden; 2 brothers – Robert David Tucker and his wife, Susan, of Warren, PA, and Stephen Andrew Tucker and his husband, Gregory, of Rochester, NY; In laws – Lorry Hazelwood and her husband, David, John C. Weber, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, and David E. Weber and his wife, Denise; 3 aunts – Janice Lewis, Kitty Tucker, and Jayne Tucker; and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date and will be announced. Dee, so sad to hear about Bill. You two were always such a great couple. My husband passed away from a heart attack three weeks ago. I am at a loss for words. My children and granddaughters are the only reason I am getting through this. I hope you have the same situation. I sincerely feel your pain. We were married two weeks after you and Bill. My heart sank when I heard about Bill’s passing. He was a fascinating guy, with an intelligence and personality that was just so easy to appreciate. Thank you so much for the kindness you and he have shown my family. The love and respect you have for each other has always been palpable—-a beautiful bar to set for oneself. I can only imagine what you are going through, but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sad to hear of Bill’s passing. I knew Bill from working at Blair. He was truly a nice man. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word. May your beautiful memories of Bill warm your heart. May he rest in peace with the Lord.
To Dee Dee and family. I am kinda’ lost for words, but you have my most sincere condolences. Bill was my buddy at Blair for my 31 years there and also my Jaycee buddy…my good friend all around. Always loved his silly grin and he was always so good natured. He will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace, Bill.

I had the pleasure of knowing Bill from both the Jamestown Community College Concert Band and the Jamestown Municipal Band. What a great guy! He was so easy to talk to, funny, always pleasant and kind, and very talented. He will be missed so very much.
