June Skinner, 86, of Russell, PA. died Wednesday morning, January 27, 2021 unexpectedly after suffering from a fall on Sunday.
She was born March 24, 1934 in Warren, PA. June was the daughter of Harry and Helen Lauffenburger Johnson. She was a longtime Russell area resident and was formerly of Sheffield, PA. She was a 1952 graduate of Sheffield High School. June was a member of Russell United Methodist Church, volunteer with the church food pantry and vacation bible school. She had been a former member of the church choir. She was an avid shopper and gardening and honorary mother to numerous people.
June is survived by her 3 children – Margaret “Peggy” Skinner, Mark Skinner, Danny Skinner all of Russell, PA., 3 Granddaughters – Tina Marie Skinner Britt and husband, Michael of Russell, PA., Christine Ruth Skinner Keller and husband, Toby of Warren, PA., Madison Skinner of Russell, PA., 3 Great Grandchildren – Mason, Carson and Addyson Britt. Several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edson T. Skinner whom she married October 21, 1955 in Kane, PA., who died January 23, 1999, 2 Daughters – Carol Ann Skinner and Debbie Skinner, 1 Brother – Harry Johnson, Jr.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 P.M. where social distancing and mask requirements will be observed. A funeral and committal service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Bay Allen, Pastor. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA. So very sorry for your loss. My condolences to the Skinner family. Many hours of my younger years were spent with the Skinner family. My Mom always enjoyed singing with June in the choir and having her as a close and reliable friend. Peace and love.
