Judy A. Gariepy, 69, of Russell, PA. died Saturday evening, April 13, 2013 at Warren General Hospital. She was born February 6, 1944 in Warren, PA. to the late Fredrick Benjamin and Mary Kathleen Allen Kays. She was a lifelong Warren area resident. Judy was a 1961 graduate of Warren Area High School. She was employed with United Refinery Company for the past 18 years as a corporate investigator. She was previous employed with the Warren County Sheriff Dept. as a deputy sheriff, earning the rank of Sergeant. She was a member of the Youngsville Lioness Club, had served as a former P.T.A. President, enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She especially enjoyed going to the Seneca Allegheny Casino and reading.
She is survived by her daughter – Ann-Marie Wood of Russell, PA., 1 Granddaughter – Petty Officer, Jacqui Suzanne Shaw, stationed with the U.S. Navy at Port Hueneme, CA., 1 Grandson – Alex David Shaw of Warren, Pa., 1 Great Granddaughter – Ariena Lynn Shaw of Warren, PA., 4 Sisters – Mary Kathleen Frederick, Linda Jane Kays, Margaret “Peg” Toner and her husband, Earl all of Warren, PA., Deborah Joan O’Connor and her husband, Robert of Pleasant Gap, PA., several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Herbie” Gariepy whom she married September, 1962 in Warren, PA.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. from 5 to 7 P.M. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 7:00 P.M. by Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Warren General Hospital, officiating. At Judy’s request, a traditional Irish Wake will be held following the memorial service to Snuffy’s Café and Lounge, 208 Hickory Street, Warren, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Warren Cancer Center or Hospice of Warren County, both located at 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA. 16365.
