Kathryn L. Johnson, 90, of Warren, PA. died Sunday evening, March 3, 2013 at Warren Manor Nursing Home. She was born February 24, 1923 in Warren, PA. to the late Clyde and Alma R. Phillips Daelhousen. She was raised in Tidioute, PA. and was a graduate of Tidioute High School Class of 1941. She then went to Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her registered nurse degree. She was employed with the Warren General Hospital as a registered nurse for 15 years and was a visiting nurse for 5 years. Kathryn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her 3 children – Joanne Vavala, Gary W. Johnson and his wife, Jane all of Warren, PA., Ernest R. Johnson, III and his wife, Suzanne of Lake City, PA., 6 Grandchildren – Jon Vavala (Stacy), Kathleen Gomola (Joe), Tim Johnson (Kathy), Rick Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Laurie Garber, 6 Great Grandchildren, her good friend, Carol Buvoltz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest R. Johnson whom she married October 25, 1941 in Catlesburg, Kentucky, 2 Brothers – Glenn Daelhousen and Richard Daelhousen, 1 Sister – Lucille Caldin.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, Pastor, officiating. Sorry for the loss of Katie. I was able to visit her in January. So many wonderful and good memories of the past. We all know she had a wonderful life. As we all age gracefully,Katie will be in our memories.
