Violette N. Hutchens McAmbley, 106, a resident of The Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA, and formerly of Warren, PA, died Sunday morning, April 15, 2018. Violette was born September 2, 1911 in Ridgway, PA, the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Fischer Saylor. She was a Warren area resident most of her life and a 1929 graduate of Warren High School. She was employed as a legal secretary for Attorney Robert Hampson and also employed as secretary at New Process Co. Violette was a member of First Presbyterian Church and member and former secretary of the Emmanuel Evangelical Reformed Church. She served as past Matron with the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Ameranth.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kay VanOrd of Russell, PA., Judy McCune and husband, Tom of Southport, N.C., 5 Grandchildren; Mark VanOrd and wife, Suzanne, Raymond VanOrd and wife, Lori, Cindy Scheid and husband, Eric, Jana Young and husband, David, Margo Ralphs and husband, Bobby; 7 Great Grandchildren; Adam VanOrd (Mollie), Jaron VanOrd (Ally), Ben VanOrd (Shiella), Cassie VanOrd (Jake Barton), Joel VanOrd (Alicia Vavala), Cameron Ralphs and Tayrn Ralphs; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; Jacob, Gunnar and Isla VanOrd; a cousin, Geraldine Jones of Warren, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Emmet E. Hutchens, 2nd husband, Joseph F. McAmbley, 2 Brothers – Kenneth J. Saylor and Ardell “Sparky” Saylor, 1 Sister – Velma Kirberger, and her son-in-law, Stewart VanOrd who died March 18, 2018.

A graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery at the convenience of the family and will be announced by the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA.
