Sharie Husted Ramsey VanGilder, 83, of Warren, PA., died at her residence, Monday, July 30, 2018, after suffering an apparent heart attack. She was born on November 21, 1934 in Pontiac, MI, and was the daughter of the late Glen and Helen Flynn Husted. Sharie was a 1952 graduate of Pontiac (MI) High School. She graduated in 1956 from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI. She was a longtime teacher with the Warren County School District. She was a member of Holy Redeemer R. C. Church, PASR, and the Association of College Women.

Sharie enjoyed family, friends, and her golden retrievers. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying traveling with family and friends and she especially loved to watch nature from her back porch.

She is survived by her 2 children – Kurt Ramsey and wife, Yu-Hui, of Castro Valley, CA, Denise Ramsey of Bluffton, SC; 1 granddaughter – Nicole Patrick of Michigan; 3 great grandchildren – Lily Rae, Ezra Jay, and Ira Dean McGauley; her special nephew – John (Anne) Hunt of Eads, TN; and special friends, Bill, Sue and Kyle Wilson, and Chuck and Lou Ann Gadsby of Warren, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harold Walter VanGilder who died December 11, 2008, and whom she married June 17, 1967 in Wayne, MI.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA, on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, PA, with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
